We are the Student Council of THG. We are the ones who make sure that the voices of students find the sympathetic ears of teachers and help grant their wishes. It’s our job, along with parents and teachers, to make school life as comfortable as possible. Therefore, we take care of sports meetings, celebrating the progress of students, or organising the Christmas Bazaar. Additionally, we offer students the possibility to be social, for example through organised Social Days, or through participation in a sponsored run, from which the money donated can support charity projects in the Balkans and the Middle East. The Student Council is involved not only in school activities, but also extra-curricular activities, and in order to do that, we need plenty of hard-working assistants. The majority of these assistants come from separate classes: the class representatives. They are the ears and voice of the Student Council. The management of the Student Council Assembly is carried out by the President of the Student Council. The team, which is elected from the student body, works in close contact with school administration and is the point of contact for everybody. Furthermore, representatives of the Student Council belong to separate committees, for example Graduation Ball Committee, or students can be trusted with special duties, like Treasurer of the Student Council. Working as part of the Student Council is lots of fun. You learn a lot about compromise, how to present your own point of view, and social participation. It’s always a personal success, when you achieve your aims and can reap the fruits of your own labour.
UK - German Connection Project
The project will involve students thinking about their favourite books when they were younger and thinking about which books interest them now, then sharing this information with students in the other country.
